Today our #WordCrushWednesday winner is Christina Ellis also known as CJ to her friends. CJ attends Blanche Ely High School and is currently in the nursing magnet program. Christina is 15 years old and was born and raised in Pompano Beach, Florida. What influences her to write and speak her mind is her father, who she says always raised her to be an open-minded child and let her voice be heard.

Today we spotlight her original poem entitled Today Was Blue

Today Was Blue
Not a warm bright Sunday morning Blue
But a dark night hue
I saw the faces of yellow, happy go lucky people
I couldn’t understand why their faces were
Radiant and Shinning
I was Red on the inside filled
With boiling anger
I couldn’t understand the true meaning of
Yellow
I didn’t have him so how could I be
Yellow
